A skeleton with an elongated skull has been uncovered at Arkaim, known as the Stonehenge of Russia. Dating to the second or third century AD, the elongated skull has created a stir for alien enthusiasts and archaeologists alike.

The Akraim site is located in the Southern Urals in Russia and is dated to the 17th century BC. The settlement in which the skeleton with the elongated skull was found is dated to 4,000 years ago, while the skeleton itself is 2,000 years old.

As the skeleton is so much younger than the site, researchers do not believe it is really connected to the Akraim archaeological site, and are convinced that the discovery is purely coincidental .

Archaeologists studying the skeleton have come to some conclusions regarding its origin. Researcher Maria Makurova asserts that the skeleton probably "belongs to a woman from the Sarmati tribe that lived in the territories of what is now modern day Ukraine, Kazakhstan and southern Russia," according to The Mail Online.

As Ancient Origins has outlined, the Sarmatians were a group of tribes who spoke Persian and ruled the aforementioned areas between 500 BC to 400 AD. They are known to have practiced female body modification by, for example, cauterizing the right breast to enable more strength for hunting and fighting.

Makurova states that the skull's elongated shape is also due to cultural traditions, and does not suggest the woman having connections to or being a member of any alien species. "Her skull was elongated because the tribe did so by tying up the heads of their children with rope. It was clearly a tradition in the tribe."

Nonetheless, the cause of elongated skulls in the Samarti tribe has yet to be explained by archaeologists. While some suspect interactions with beings from other worlds, Makurova has declined to comment on this belief, stating instead that research continues on other theories to clarify the reasons for this practice.

The controversy regarding the origin of elongated skulls as cultural practices, alien interactions, and as a worldwide phenomena has been covered extensively by Ancient Origins . Archaeological finds of both cranium and figurines have shown that skull modification expanded around the world starting in 5,000 BC as hunter-gatherer societies became more settled. The reasoning behind the increase in elongated skulls is however still open for debate.

The site of Arkaim is called Russia's Stonehenge due to its latitude, date, size and role as an astronomical observatory. The site also contains a settlement which covers approximately 220,000 square feet (6, 7056 square meters) and has a central gathering space with two circles of dwellings separated by a street.

Similarities continue as there have also been many claims of strange incidents taking place at Arkaim in the past, much like Stonehenge. Magnetic anomalies, strange fog and lights, hallucinations, feelings of disorientation and other unexplained phenomena have linked Arkaim to otherworldly activities over the years. Much as the theories and controversy regarding elongated skulls, Arkaim continues to generate heated debate on its origins and purpose.

Elongated Skull with Immaculate Teeth Discovered in Russia

“In November 2018, the employees of the Institute of Archeology of the Caucasus LLC and the GKU EKI Krupnova Archeological Center began the excavations of the Gamurzievsky settlement, occupying the top and slopes of the elevation between the Nazranka and Sunzha rivers. During the excavations a large number of economic holes were identified: they are round in plan and cylindrical in section. In addition to their typical finds, several pits have found human remains, which, along with numerous bones of wild and domestic animals, ceramics, bronze arrowheads and women’s ornaments, belong, according to preliminary data, to the Bronze Age. Of great interest is the unique find – the female skeleton with artificial deformation of the skull and neck, which dates from the 4th – 6th centuries…” 1

The archaeological team seems to conclude that the elongation is the result of artificial deformation, but what if the elongation in this case is actually due to genetics? At first glance, this skull appears to have more cranial mass than average human skulls.

Just a few years ago an infant skeleton estimated to be 2000 years old and possessing a very large elongated skull was discovered near this same area. As you can see pictured below, the infant skull also appears to have more cranial mass than normal.

These elongated skulls found near the Black Sea closely resemble the Paracas skulls found in Peru , some of which are up to 25% larger and 60% percent heavier than conventional human skulls, meaning they could not have been intentionally deformed through head binding, as cranial deformation can change the shape but does not alter the volume or weight of a skull. 2

Almost perfect, immaculate and well preserved teeth have also been associated with many of the ancient Giant skeletons that have been discovered in North America. 3

Ancient woman with ‘ALIEN-LIKE' SKULL unearthed in Russia (VIDEO)

Since 2017 bones belonging to humans and numerous wild and domestic animals, along with a large number of ceramics, ornaments and bronze arrowheads have been discovered at the remarkable Gamurzievsky settlement in the city of Nazran, Ingushetia.

However this week&rsquos discovery of a woman&rsquos skeleton &ndash which dates back to between the 4th and 6th century &ndash is particularly unique because of the fascinating intentional deformation of her skull and neck.

The practice of changing the shape of one&rsquos head, scientifically known as artificial cranial deformation (ACD), is a known tradition among many peoples of the world. Today, the result resembles Hollywood&rsquos perception of what a alien from outer space might look like.

&ldquoHistory knows many examples of purposeful change in the shape of the head,&rdquo said a representative from the Yevgeny Krupnov Archaeological Center carrying out the dig.

Skulls were elongated from infancy using rings and repeated bandaging for the first few years of life as a sign of a special status to command certain privileges in society. Remains of elite ancestors from various tribes including the Sarmatians, Alans, Huns have also been found to have elongated skulls.

Last year scientists finally identified the 1,500-year-old remains of several high-ranking &ldquotreaty brides&rdquo from Bulgaria and Romania discovered with tower-shaped skulls. In Peru some 38 high-ranking members of the pre-Inca population were also found with teardrop-shaped heads that represented their prestige and social rank.

Ancient Woman with ‘ALIEN-LIKE’ SKULL Unearthed in Russia

A skeleton with an unusual-shaped skull (pictured) has been unearthed on a site known as Russia’s Stonehenge. UFO enthusiasts were quick to claim it was proof aliens visited earth when it was first found

A skeleton with an unusual-shaped skull has been excavated on a site known as Russia’s Stonehenge.

When photos of the remains were first published, UFO enthusiasts rushed to claim they were proof that aliens had once visited to Earth.

But archaeologist’s have revealed that the bones belong to a woman who lived almost 2000 years ago and had an elongated skull because it was bound out of tribal traditions.

The remains were discovered in Arkaim, near Chelyabinsk in central Russia – a settlement dating back almost 4000 years.

It is believed the woman belonged to a tribe that was part of what is now modern day Ukraine.

Researcher Maria Makurova has confirmed to the Russian news agency TASS: ‘We have discovered a well-preserved skeleton.

‘I would not exclude the possibility that the skeleton belongs to a woman from the Sarmati tribe that lived in the territories of what is now modern day Ukraine, Kazakhstan and southern Russia.

‘Her skull was elongated because the tribe did so by tying up the heads of their children with rope. It was clearly a tradition in the tribe.’

She declined to comment on speculations it was attributed to alien visitors saying that currently they were still working on theories as to why the tribe had the tradition but had nothing fixed yet as a reason.

The skeleton is thought to date to the 2nd or 3rd century AD, making it considerably younger than the site.

It is just another of the mysteries to be unearthed at the spectacular site of Arkaim known as Russia Stonehenge, which is believed to have been built in the 17th-century BC.

It is believed by some that, like its 5000-year-old English counterpart, it was used to study of the stars.

But Arkaim is thought to be more advanced.

Stonehenge allows for observations of Ten astronomical phenomena using 22 elements, while Arkaim enables observations of 18 phenomena using 30 elements.

This means that ancient people could have observed and tracked certain events in the sky by using the site in certain ways from particular position, and that Arkaim offered more observable events than Stonehenge.

Russian archaeologists K.K. Bystrushkin, who made the comparison between the two sites in 2003, said Stonehenge offers an observational accuracy of 10 arc minutes to a degree, whereas Arkaim offers accuracy of 1-arc minute.

This precision was unheard of at the time the monument is thought to have been built.

The Akraim archaeological site was found in 1987 and since then it has yielded spectacular discoveries including some artefacts from the Bronze Age.

As well as being a primitive astronomical observatory it was also a village that was fortified by 2 large stone circular walls.

The settlement covers an area of some 220,000 square feet (20,439 square metres) and consists of 2 circles of dwellings separated by a street, with a central community square in the centre.

    The Paracas Skulls

Perhaps the most famous of all elongated skulls. Discovered in 1928 by Peruvian archaeologist Julio Tello within Pisco Province on the south coast of Peru, the Paracas Skulls have been the subject of debate for more than 90 years.

In total, Tello discovered within a massive graveyard more than 300 elongated skulls, some of which are thought to date back around 3,000 years.

According to some ‘controversial claims,’ the cranium of the Paracas skulls is are least 25 % larger and up to 60% heavier than the skulls of regular human beings. 🤷‍♂️

Russian Archeologists Find Elongated Skull with Perfect Teeth

Archeologists uncovered another skeleton with an elongated skull, much like the “Paracas skulls” found in Peru. In addition to the noticeably deformed cranium, the skeletal remains showed a female with unusually pristine teeth that remained preserved for somewhere between 1,700 and 2,000 years.

The remains were discovered at a 4,000-year-old settlement known as Arkaim, in Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast. The site is referred to as Russia’s Stonehenge, due to the remains of a monolithic structure that once stood there, which has become a mecca for pagans, psychics, astrologers, and clairvoyants.

The arrangement of the structure at Arkaim was believed to have been used for astronomy but in some instances, visitors have described strange magnetic anomalies, unexplained lights, and even hallucinations during visits.

Arkhaim and the Ural Mountains in general have also become a hotspot for UFO sightings, attracting throngs of seekers hoping to catch a glimpse of the unusual aerial phenomena.

In the past, the unearthing of elongated skulls tended to elicit speculation and headlines describing their discovery as evidence of aliens, but the practice of using wooden boards and wraps to intentionally stretch the skull of child is a well-documented practice. In fact, a parent could even shape the skull of an infant in such a fashion, simply by massaging it when the baby’s skull was soft and tensile.

But of course this hasn’t stopped tabloids from continuing to publish fantastic headlines calling newly unearthed elongated skulls “alien-like,” and the latest discovery is no exception.

Researchers believe this skeleton is unconnected to the original Arkaim civilization as radiocarbon dating placed it at a significantly earlier date. Instead, the ancient woman was believed to have belonged to the Sarmati tribe that inhabited the southern Urals.

Cranial deformation began while a child was still an infant, but no one is quite sure why ancient cultures conducted this practice. Some speculate that it was a way to achieve a more masculine look for males, but this wouldn’t explain the elongation of the recently discovered female skull. The most widely accepted answer is that it was believed to be an indicator of higher social status.

And elongated skulls or their depiction in ancient civilizations can be found all over the world, dating back to ancient Egyptian pharaohs, such as King Tut, Nefertiti, and Akhenaton. Meanwhile, similar skulls have been unearthed in a multitude of disparate areas across the world including England, France, Peru, and in parts of Africa.

Some proponents of the ancient astronaut theory believe the elongated skulls were an attempt to emulate the look of an ancient extraterrestrial race that visited our ancestors, but no one knows for certain. Still the practice becomes interesting especially when you throw Gaia’s 2017 discovery of several anomalous Peruvian skeletons with elongated skulls from Nazca into the mix.

10 Of The Strangest Skulls Ever Discovered

Skulls have the greatest potential value of unlocking the secrets of humanity’s past. For centuries archaeologists have been analysing peculiar skulls and strange artifacts that defy convenient explanation. Many of archeological discoveries still challenge modern man’s view of history.

However the Earth holds countless untold secrets such as these ten incredibly intriguing skulls.

    1 – Toddler’s elongated skull from Crimea

The burial place of a 1,5-year-old boy with a deformed elongated skull was unearthed by archaeologists in Crimea. The scientists immediately dubbed the finding an ‘alien’ due to the unusual structure of the skull.

The remains were found near the village of Yakovenkovo in the eastern part of the Crimean Peninsula, says the Archaeology Fund, a group that organizes digs across Central Russia, Crimea and Northern Africa.

2 – The Strangest Ancient Peruvian Skull

It was found in an ancient cemetery in the Paracas area of Peru by local people along with 4 other far more human like skulls, and complete bodies. It is clearly not human, but what is it? What is the strange fold or crease in the center top part of the head?Could it be the preserved skull of an ancient Peruvian dog? The Chincha culture of the area, that existed prior to the arrival of the Inca up until about 1450 AD had domestic dogs, so it is possible that the Paracas did as well, more than 2000 years ago. More to be learned about this and other finds in the near future.

3 – Elongated Skulls of Mexico and Peru

Paracas is a desert peninsula in Pisco Province on the south coast of Peru.

Around 300 of the amazing skulls were found by Peruvian archaeologist Julio Tello in 1928 in an elaborate graveyard. But there still remains a mystery over the shape of the Paracas skulls. Cranial deformation changed the shape of a skull, but in normal cases did not alter other features. However, the Paracas skulls have other unusual features and are the biggest elongated skulls ever found.

    4 – Alien-Like Skulls Discovered in Mexico

Archaeologists recently unearthed 13 alien-looking human skulls in a cemetery in western Mexico. The skulls date somewhere between 945 to 1308 A.D. Originally the skulls baffled researchers. However, under closer examination the skulls were discovered to be human skulls that formed into alien-like shapes. Why these individual skulls were warped is unknown. Cristina Garcia Moreno, a researcher from Arizona State University, told ABC News, “We don’t know why this population has specifically deformed heads.”

Some archaeologists believe that the skull deformation was a ritual among many indigenous groups in South America. Of the 25 burials in the cemetery, 17 were children between 5 months and 16 years of age. The skulls showed no signs of disease, which makes the cause of death rather mysterious.

    5 – Demonic-looking Lkulls Found Near a Nazi Briefcase

The skulls were reportedly discovered by a team of explorers led by scientist Vladimir Melikov in a cave on Mount Bolshoi Tjach, Russia.

Despite being found two years ago, news of it has only gone global after a separate find in woods nearby of a Nazi briefcase and German full-colour map of the Adygea region made in 1941.

According to reports the briefcase, picked up by a local hermit, had the emblem of the Ahnenerbe – the most secretive Nazi institute founded by Heinrich Himmler in 1935 to find evidence that the Aryan race had once ruled the entire globe.

But it soon branched into occultism, paranormal research, pseudoscience and the study of UFOs and weapons development due to Himmler’s obsession with such topics. The strange appearance of the skulls has led to speculation the Nazis could have made contact with aliens or even summoned demons in the remote area and these were the remains. Conspiracy websites have connected the mysterious skulls with the occultism of the SS Ahnenerbe institution and concluded the skulls could be those of dead demons or even aliens

6 – The First Ever Leper

A 4000-year-old skull was found in India in 2009 with tell-tale signs of leprosy making him this oldest leper ever found. Though it is no longer a significant public health threat in most parts of the world, leprosy is still one of the least understood infectious diseases, in part because the bacteria that causes it (Mycobacterium leprae) is difficult to culture for research and has only one other animal host, the nine banded armadillo.

    7 – The Crystal Skulls

The mystery surrounding the origin of crystal skulls has drawn supernatural speculation.

Crystal skulls are not uncommon or terribly mysterious. Thousands are produced every year in Brazil, China, and Germany.

There are perhaps a dozen of these rare crystal skulls in private and public collections. Some are crystal clear, others of smoky or colored quartz. Some are actual human size and of very fine detail, while others are smaller and less refined. All are believed to originate from Mexico and Central America.

Many believe these skulls were carved thousands or even tens of thousands of years ago by an ancient Mesoamerican civilization. Others think they may be relics from the legendary island of Atlantis or proof that extraterrestrials visited the Aztec sometime before the Spanish conquest.

8 – The Vampire of Venice

The 16th-century woman was discovered among medieval plague victims in 2006. Her jaw had been forced open by a brick—an exorcism technique used on suspected vampires in Europe at the time.

During medieval times, if someone was suspected of being a vampire, the quick fix was to shove a brick or large rock into their jaw post-mortem, thus breaking their jaw and leaving their corpse unable to bite people. History is a little murky on exactly what this woman did to convince others of her vampirism, but her skull was rendered vampire-less with a large rock and buried like that. She likely was either put to death for witchcraft and this was a safeguard, or she just lived a really long time. Yes, just having a nice, long life would get you accused of vampiric activities back then. The standard age of the time was 60, and if you made it too far past that, then you were clearly an undead beast who needed a brick to the face.

    9 – 300-year-old Tibetan Carved Skull

An intricately carved skull was found in an antique shop of Vienna, which caught the attention of numerous researchers from various organisations. The skull that is said to be around 300 years old, seems to hold some religious significance as it is carved with figures and symbols all over. While the owner of this skull is unknown, the shop from which this was found claimed that a man sold it to him. He added that the man, got this skull from his ancestor, who was essentially a doctor, travelling throughout Asia. He once treated an abbot in a Buddhist Monastery in Tibet, and in return, he gave him that skull along with numerous other things.

Researchers claimed that the letters carved on the skull could possibly be Devanagari Script, reading “Om, Ma, Sa, Ma, Ta, Sa, Om, Da, Ma, Ta.” Some claimed that the script was an ancient Indian script called Ranja.

    10 – Prehistoric Skulls with Bullet-like Holes

Nearly one century ago, a Swiss miner was searching for metal ore deposits in the limestone caves of Kabwe, Zambia, when he found an ancient skull that dated back to between 125,000 and 300,000 years. It was the first fossil to be discovered in Africa with Homo sapiens characteristics. But there was an even bigger surprise – the skull had a small, circular shaped hole on the side, which forensic scientists say could only have been created by an extremely high-velocity projectile, such as that caused by a bullet. The mystery was compounded by the discovery of an ancient auroch skull with exactly the same feature. The discoveries have led to many wild and wonderful speculations, but we are really no closer to solving the puzzle.

2,000-year-old elongated skull was found at ancient Russian site

Arkaim, considered the Stonehenge of Russia, is a site of many mysteries and speculation since its discovery in 1987.

Another such mystery has developed since the discovery of a skeleton with an elongated skull at the site. However, archaeologists have both revealed the truth behind the mystery and silenced UFO truthers by announcing that the skeleton actually belonged to a 2,000-year-old woman.

The elongation of the skull is the result of the practise of binding the heads of children of an ancient tribe that had settled in parts of now modern-day Ukraine.

Researcher Maria Makurova said, “I would not exclude the possibility that the skeleton belongs to a woman from the Sarmati tribe that lived in the territories of what is now modern day Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and southern Russia.” Makurova shared that they were still trying to determine the reason behind why the tribe tied the heads with rope and refused to comment on any alien speculation. (Mail Online)

The researchers theorised that the woman lived around 2,000 years ago, that is between the second and third century CE. This puts the age of her skeleton much later than the construction of the site at Arkaim, which is dated around seventeenth century BCE.

Though always compared to Stonehenge in England, researchers believe that Arkaim is much more advanced than the English site. Both these structures are believed to have been used for studying stars. The people who built these sites observed events in the sky and tracked the stars using certain elements and positions of the sites.

According to Russian archaeologist K. K. Bystrushkin, the Arkaim can be used to make observations that are more accurate than the Stonehenge. The Arkaim uses 30 elements to observe up to 18 phenomena to the accuracy of one-arc minute while the Stonehenge uses 22 elements to observe up to 10 phenomena to the accuracy of only 10-arc minutes.

The site of the Arkaim boasted both an astronomical observatory and a settlement covering an area of 20,439 square metres. The settlement was well-organised with streets, a central community square, and dwellings arranged in two concentric circles.
